Now it's up to all of us: peace and social security, which we have long taken for granted and therefore not paid much attention to, are now seriously threatened!

Almost all parties in Germany are not in favour of negotiating peace with Russia. For a long time, they have completely rejected talks, just like the Ukrainian government: Ukraine has even banned them under its constitution.
But Russia's army is advancing further and further. Large additional troops are standing by for a major offensive. The killing and destruction continues and is likely to cost hundreds of thousands more lives. That is why the demand of the ‘coalition of the willing’ (parts of the EU and Great Britain) is meeting with a lot of sympathy. Russia's rejection seems incomprehensible.
But now a good reason is emerging that is prompting Russia's government to agree to a ceasefire only as part of an overall solution. According to Belgian politician Theo Francken, the plan of the ‘coalition of the willing’ is as follows: ‘As soon as there is a ceasefire, the coalition of the willing can immediately begin operations on Ukrainian soil.’ This would mean the risk of a direct confrontation between NATO and Russia. It could easily escalate into a world war.
According to geopolitical analyst and former US soldier Brian Berletic (1), the plan behind the demand for a ceasefire without a peace solution is as follows: The US wants to freeze the conflict now. It wants to avoid a war on two fronts and initially seek confrontation only with China. In the coming years, NATO is to arm itself massively (the US also in space). After China's subjugation, the confrontation will then be resumed with strengthened NATO armies. This analysis is shared by two former employees of the US security apparatus, Larry Johnson & Col. Wilkerson (2). However, they believe that the attempt to confront China and Russia individually has already failed. On the contrary, the political leaders of these countries have understood the divide-and-rule game and are joining forces more and more closely. And they are also working, primarily through BRICE and the Silk Road project, to unite with the global South.
However, Western leaders are not yet willing to accept that they can no longer impose their will on the rest of the world. The balance of power has shifted. And it is not only China and Russia, but many other countries (including increasingly within the EU) that are no longer willing to sacrifice their national interests and the living conditions of their citizens to Western hegemony. They now have more means than ever before to defend themselves, especially when they act together.
Will it remain peaceful? Will the arms race destroy our welfare states? Could the conflict escalate into nuclear war? Will rearmament further destroy the climate and swallow up the resources needed to create decent living conditions worldwide and halt climate change? And thus also eliminate the causes of migration?
It is primarily up to us in the Western states to bring forth politicians, parties and citizen networks that advocate fair foreign relations, strive to accept other states as equals, and rely on negotiation rather than blackmail and violence, as Western states have done for the past 500 years and continue to do today (Evarist Bartolo 3).
The UN Charter, which is hardly known to the citizens of the West, provides us with a good guide. Let us gather our forces in all countries to implement it.
WE THE PEOPLES OF THE UNITED NATIONS DETERMINED
to save succeeding generations from the scourge of war, which twice in our lifetime has brought untold sorrow to mankind, and
to reaffirm faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person, in the equal rights of men and women and of nations large and small, and
to establish conditions under which justice and respect for the obligations arising from treaties and other sources of international law can be maintained, and
to promote social progress and better standards of life in larger freedom,
AND FOR THESE ENDS
to practice tolerance and live together in peace with one another as good neighbours, and
to unite our strength to maintain international peace and security, and
to ensure, by the acceptance of principles and the institution of methods, that armed force shall not be used, save in the common interest, and
to employ international machinery for the promotion of the economic and social advancement of all peoples,
HAVE RESOLVED TO COMBINE OUR EFFORTS TO ACCOMPLISH THESE AIMS.
Accordingly, our respective Governments, through representatives assembled in the city of San Francisco, who have exhibited their full powers found to be in good and due form, have agreed to the present Charter of the United Nations and do hereby establish an international organization to be known as the United Nations.United Nations Charter (full text) | United Nations
