Proposal for discussion for people who want to live in a Europe that fulfils the goals of the Charter of Paris: with peace, social security and justice, democracy and equal security for all!
This is our goal as Europeans who are now committed to implementing the Paris Charter:
We want to live in the Europe that the states agreed in Paris in 1990 in the Charter of Paris: With peace, in social security and justice, democracy and equal security for all!
As politicians have not managed to build this Europe, which they have decided is binding under international law, after more than 30 years, we are proposing that citizens now tackle it themselves!
To this end, we propose that teams be formed in the individual European states to campaign for a domestic and foreign policy that is in line with the values of the Charter:
What about social security and justice, human rights and democratic participation in the country?
What about a foreign policy that promotes equal security for all as a basis for peace?
These are the steps we propose:
Find like-minded people and build a team for the country with them,
study and publicise the Charter,
analyse the role that their country's policies have played and continue to play in the post-Cold War transition
analyse the extent to which the implementation of the Charter in domestic and foreign policy has succeeded or failed
researches and discusses the reasons for successes and failures
draws conclusions and discusses the steps that can lead to their implementation
builds citizens' lobbies for these steps through the constituencies by the citizens themselves
Organises further training for the training of multipliers
Organising an exchange of information and opinions across borders
We are considering organising an action on the border between Hesse and Thuringia, in the middle of Germany - where the town of Großburschla, Germany and Europe and the world were hostilely divided into East and West until 1989 - to start discussing the steps for implementing the Paris Charter!
Who would support such an action?
